P990 vs N95..

C'mon ppl, RELAX. It is really a fact of what you need in a phone. If I needed the touch screen, I would have gone with the SE, but I'm waiting for the N95. But, if the HTC advantage X7500 gets released by MTN at a realistic price, I would definately go for that phone. Everyone has a favourite phone, but everyone (even those who does not admit it) still likes to look at the other phones, otherwise why would there be N95 posts in SE thread's, and vice a versa ? The N95 and P990 is similar, but also worlds apart. And even though I'm pro-N95, it does seem that the majority of N95's that has been released are full of cr@p. I must say JK8 were right in the beginning, "what out for the first batch" some have no issues, but most do. MTN actually send back the last batch, and the next batch should be here within 2 weeks, and this time there should be no stock issues.:D So pls everyone, be honest about the phone you've got, and tell us about the glitches you've got. Some of us are thinking about what to get, and are looking for answers. ;)

I've got no glitches ......just a Laptop in my pocket that keeps me connected all day, check's my mail for me, can download a 17mb attachment in a matter of minutes and open it, all without the slightest hickup.

Its a awesome piece of technology.....

Still waiting to hear how you unbranded your phone...phoenix and generic fw, or something else?
 
Cool, thanks man. Can you just tell me what differences (if any) you saw between the vodafone and generic FW?
 
Finished debranding...amazing how much stuff is actually lacking in the vodafone fw!!!
 
Absolutely!!! GPS lock is so much quicker now, and I am not sure if this is placebo or not, but voice sounds a lot better/clearer as well.

Bloody vodafone - it's basically a crippled phone when running their fw!!! Did you see how they disabled VoIP and PTT - as if it doesn't even exist!!! Really makes me mad that they get away with stuff like that.
 
my gps locks in less than a min....most times

i plugged my phone into the tv last night and surfed the internet like i was sitting at a pc, so frikkin cool
 
Now just to find out how to crack the nav component... ;)
 
Oh dear! My mate had to run to his bakkie now to go and charge his n95 again - and it's not even 15h00! :p

By the way, the calculator on the n95 is one of the sh1ttiest calculators I have ever used - even my V3 Razr's calculator is more advanced. :eek:

I think Vodafone sucks, especially their boring old icons. I used Vodafone and unbranded versions of some phones (like W850, P990, M600), and the unbranded ones are much better.

Could have been, I am not sure. But I am sure that no-one has been talking about that for a while.

Why don't you help your mate by telling him he's probably reduced the battery life by charging it with the car charger, rather than being a troll?
