Sometimes anti-social, always anti-fascist.
I have a package that was shipped out f the US on the 18th December last year.

It has been in customs in JHB since one week after the shipped date.

We have the local tracking number and a contact at customs who says they are backlogged to September 2014.

This means that we can expect release of this package around May/June 2015... I can't swallow that.

Does anyone have experience here? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

have they asked for the invoice for it , if not send it to them cause most of the time the delay is due to lack of invoice

**** me, I read thread title as 'Package stuck in condoms"

must be the Friday beers.

To give you an idea. I had a package shipped from the US on 5th of Jan 2015. It arrived on the 28th, I picked it up yesterday on the 29th. It did spend 2 weeks at JIMC customs, who knows why. Once it reached Cape Mail Hub it took 2 days to get to my local post office at Tygervalley mall.

That said, my package did have the proper invoice price and item description on it. When items are marked for very low value, that is when customs get suspicious, and will hold it back until you follow up and produce an invoice yourself, so that they know how much to tax you.

I have done the low value/gift before and they didn't even notice :)

Your parcel is at JIMC and they have so much back log from the strike they haven't got to it yet. If you go there, and are prepared to wait 2 - 3 hours then they may or may not find it, depends if they feel like looking.
