Since yesterday, 27th Jan, I've had some packet loss on my 4mb DSL line, Bellville. It started while I was at work. I checked this morning before I left for work and it was still like this.
I'm at work now so I can't show a ping test, but the ones I did last night basically showed a flat 32ms latency to local sites with random request timeouts. The latency is good, of course this request timeouts are bad and I'm seeing this behavior in games as well. eg. Flat good latency in game, followed by a short spike, then flat again.
I took a look at the network notifications forum section and these notifications stand out:
27th - Link - Services to 1166 ADSL services affected
27th - Hardware - Services to 1543 ADSL clients affectede
28th - Link - Services to 847 ADSL clients affected
Possibly related, or unrelated? Should I begin the slow and painful battle with Telkom to try get them to repair the issue?
