Paid-for digital content catching on: study

I do not agree with this at all.

If this was indeed the case you would have seen a hell of a lot more news publishers asking money for visitors to view content. The biggest news publishers on the Internet still provide totally free content. If people are willing to pay, they will not have offered free content.
 
My personal experience is this is true.

I started paying for digital content on StarCityGames.com in order to access their premium section. I pay $50 a year and get access to between 3 and 5 premium articles/videos per weekday, and I'm very happy with it. I read news and strategy at all of the competing free sites, but don't have a problem paying at SCG for superior content.
 
Good thing I read the article first, I thought this was about actual paid content that we've been asking for for ages, you know, movies, music, games etc.. Not some bloody newspaper articles FFS.
