Painkillers for concentration?

Yeah, I've heard Ritalin is very good too, but don't you need a prescription for that? I doubt they'll give me a prescription if I want to use it for the purposes of studying.

My doctor claims that Grandpas can cause stomach ulcers when used in excess.

1000% correct - stay away from that poison.

My father had a stomach ulcer due to that stuff - some years later he was diagnosed as having cancer of the transverse colon, condition too serious for surgery & beyond the scope of other treatment options - he was dead within months. whether there is a link between the ulcer & cancer i do not know.

a friend was admitted (emergency) to chis barnard hosp - burst ulcer - cause = grandpa according to various test results.

unfortunately due to it's powder form, it provides rapid relief from pain - so people become "addicted" to it's pain relieving properties.

Well, that's that then. I'm flushing the Grandpas down the toilet now. :/

Thanks for the VitB suggestion. I'll definitely look into it.

You better. It's too late for me. Got an ulcer from that sh|t

You do need a prescription.
I also want to get my hands on some.

The only thing that could possibly be helping you with your perceived better concentration is the caffeine. The only indication that paracetamol may marginally boost cognitive abilities were under very strict dosages called therapeutic dosages, and are based on weight, age, height etc. Researchers also found that in other non-therapeutic doses, it diminished cognitive functions. So you're probably experiencing the placebo effect, or more likely just slightly more alert because of the caffeine.

In terms of aspirin, there is some evidence that taken over an extended period, it might reduce memory loss in mid-to-old age. That is all, and there are conflicting studies in this respect.

Bottom-line - have a cup of coffee and stop taking painkillers for no good reason...

I believe that was a successful attempt to get Ockie's attention :D

IT WORKED!! I still lie awake at night waiting to fall asleep wondering when such a epic happening will ever occur again on mybb. I mean ... I can go onto a gay porn site right now and look at some pics ... or whatsapp a friend and tell him to pull down his pants and give me something to dream about .... but frekking hell .... when have a mybb peep ever posted a pic of his "half shaft" and balls???? NEVER ... THATS WHEN!!!!! .... UNTILL NOW!

I am just so fcking pissed off I did not think of pressing ctrl+prnt scrn FCK!!!!!:mad:

Anyway ... back on topic ..... paracetamol bad .... CODEINE GOOOOOOOD!

Perphas to do with its positive effects on blood thinning and blood flow? Dont know if I should be saying this .... but ja ... my dad used to say to his ex heart attack victims .... flush down a disprin with a whisky and call me in the morning. :-)

Maybe it causes a better blood flow in the brain and that has a slight positive result on memory etc? The human body and brain is a wonderful thing. If you ask me ... I dont think we will ever understand how our bodies and brain works .... not to mention interact with outside influences. AMAZING!

Those are the results of the exact group of studies I was referring to. Unfortunately it's not as simple as that and only has an unconfirmed, slight benefit in very particular dosages...

Well, painkillers must be good for concentration, just look how House comes up with a cure after popping a few Vicodins

The natural product called Ginko Biloba is also said to aid concentration, probably due to its blood thinning properties.

If you look at some of the products that are marketed as memory and concentration enhancers, they usually have ginko biloba in there

The stuff is pure poison.
This drivel again. It's just caffeine, aspirin and paracetamol, like many other painkilling combinations out there.

My doctor claims that Grandpas can cause stomach ulcers when used in excess.
It certainly can, in excess. Just like paracetamol can cause damage in excess. But anyone who has used these drugs too much can't blame the drug.
