I got a little bored leveling a shammy so I have put it on hold for a bit. I decided the other day (when some of the servers were down after the patch and some where up... to start a tanking class toon). While waiting for my server to come back online I tried out a Paladin.

Now I have one on my main server and its leveling like mad! At 21 I could solo lvl 25 group quests!!! The leveling is insanely fast! Paladins are crazy! They just keep going!

Played some WSG and had fun eating the twinked rogues. At lvl 22 I could beat most players wearing cloth even if they were in the 27-29 range. Its mad fun!

Yea paladins are really hard to let die. I'm leveling one now, level 35 ret.

Sometimes I'm so bored during a fight I forget I can lay on hands. Then I die. But most of the time I'm "lay on hands.... NOW WHAT YOU BITCHES!"

Especially the one judgment that STOPS THEM FROM RUNNING IN FEAR! OMG!!!!! That's a nice one. I don't pull unnecessary mobs because of it.

I use the one taunt to pull them from a distance, by the time they get to me I exorcised their asses, layout consecration and then "judge" them. If they want to self-heal I just knock-em out with one of the abilities (forget its name) and continue hitting, by that time another judgment is up

When you get to 80 & you are fighting fully PvP-geared Warlocks, Shadow Priests, Hunters, Shamans, and Death Knights, I want to see if you are still going on about how awesome Paladins are.

True, they are insane leveling machines. Unfortunately, at 80, a Paladin in PvP gear vs an equally geared class of any of those I mentioned above, will battle to come out on top.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

paladins at 80 are awesome, there pvp is matched with others, thou i still hate locks.

Be happy that they changed paladin mechanics, not so long ago a bubble+hearth macro was a strict requirement for leveling :P

I beg to differ. I have 912 resilience on my Pally, with all Deadly/Furious gear. A lock can take me down from 25k to almost zero in a matter of seconds, at range. If I don't have a bubble, or LOH, I am screwed. Hunters, Shamans, Mage, all the same - they can just about nuke you before you get anywhere near them.

On top of that, Locks have some crazy talent that makes them immune (or resistant) to a particular type of magic when you crit on them - so, there you are, using all your big hits, and nothing's happening, all the while they're just dotting you like crazy.

Mages just blink & frikkin' disappear (though I must admit they aren't as potent as Locks - except for the arcane, fire mages - most are frost for survivability).

Hunters have this stupid "disengage" talent that bops them way out of your reach & then they just run away. They become immune to stuns, mana-draining you all the time.

Shamans: Lava Burst, Flame Shock - 18K :(

Death Knights - essentially a paladin with different mechanics & they do insane damage.

Paladins have definitely had their PvP utility upped, but if you don't have a bubble or LOH off cooldown when you encounter these buggers, you'll be lucky to get out alive.

cry more lol. Paladins are op. They're still killing people in 2-3 gcd's

Stunlol
Whirling golden stuffz
Judgement of something

Pew pew while being immune.

DEAD

I have a mage main, paladin alt and priest alt 80's and 1 of each other class except shaman at about 30ish. I found that both the paladin (ret) and priest (shadow) was the most boring of all chars to level.

I leveled my pala as prot and found it much much more enjoyable.

Agree if LoH or bubble on cd ur screwd!
Highest crit I get in pvp is about 4.8-5k if I'm lucky in a single fight and thats if the other guy has ****ty gear. Iv had 8k lava burst, 9k chaos bolt and the other night a 15k arcane blast done against me with 1 spell! Yeha palladins are OP:confused:

..yeah maybe if your a rogue or you got rly bad gear/lag:p

See now, this is why you must must must team up with other people and use each other's strengths and abilities.

The whole reason that Arena's were created is to teach players that teensy weensy little fact.

But, when you get onto a battle-ground suddenly it's every man for himself, trying to get to the top of the list which is ordered by number of kills, resulting in a loss, and therefore a heck of a loss in honour gained.

I have learnt how to use my rogue to keep the healers occupied, but now I am being nailed because they're getting wise to me and have at least 2 healers accompanying each other.

All in all though, an extremely fun game this.

People are moaning about paladins being weak? Good lord.

Or you're a mage minding your own business and this Retlol comes whirling at you >.<

I don't PvP so I have 0 resi for doing quests or farming...

You have 912 resil...and yet you haven't learned your weakness's and strengths?

You know there are certain classes that always beats other classes, and thats how the wheel goes in WoW.

Paladins are awesome against most melee types, the only melee class I can say I have a tough time against is DKs, but then again like paladins they use magic for most of their attacks unlike warriors/rogues which are a handover when I meet them.

Now I do not play retri in pvp, most of the time I just storm in in prot spec. Its a whole different game play, and you will have to get used to not having mana ever, but man once a group of players start attacking you and you have a healer on you, you will become unstoppable. I have been running around with the flag in WSG, and 5 players tried to take me down at once. I had one insane healer on me and the enemy was stupid enough to not take him down, except a few rogues did try to jump him. Between his skills and mine I could take down each enemy one by one, starting with the ones on the healer until they all dead. That is how you play in BGs. Slow but works.

I also have a rogue, which make me think a whole lot different about pvp, it also inspires me to play my pala very different than the rest, since its only been 80 for about 4 weeks now.

ps. Locks are just one of those classes you accept you can't beat on a pala, just like rogues are one of those classes that locks rarely will kill one on one. When I get tired of locks on my pala, I jump on my rogue and kill a few to feel better again.

oi! Wizard :)

I have a Pallie at lvl 10 i should probably level too. They are fun. Ran out of cap with the patch though. Just as i started the game i got dc'ed. :P

Taking your pallie for a boost this weekend i think. ;)

OP or a can of Wipp a$$

I think most people would agree that Palidans and Rouges are the biggest pain in the ass when it comes to PVP.

Thing is the "just" of a "Palidan" in terms of lore and meaning its a holy knight that is hard to kill period.

If it was not for class balancing they would be even more OP than they are. In TBC Retri's where not as common as now, so then it was not an "Issue" or subject to say Palidans are OP.

So when blizz said that Palidan's this time round always find themself at a favourable place was because it is difficult to "tune" the class properly. I think this is because just in the pure abilities and expectations of a Palidan as a class and that is a holy knight wearing plate that is hard to kill. Go look at origional warcraft. Palidans where the way to go.. huge HP, can heal and do loads of damage..now the challenge is to try and balance that expection so that it is not OP compared to other classes is hard.

Call me a noob if you like but I see the Paladin and rouge as my nemises as a Warlock reirei/Terenas/EU and Elemental Shaman soltyrei/terenas/EU Thats why I stick to PVE and thats it.

I am sure the are many pro warlocks and shamans who may not find them challenging but for the majority of players is maybe another topic.

I'm fully PvP geared on my warlocks lvl 80, and Pallies are easy to kill, for me the hard once are Warriors and Rogues ^_^
