Pally Tank question

A 10 man semi casual raiding guild called Corrupted Sovereign. Stopped Raiding when Call of the Crusade hit.

Was sad to see the bunch of guys quit when we just started working on frogg saron x_x

Ahh nice... Its sad to see the top guilds fell on bloodhoof... with Tainted souls gone + Bloodcult dead, its pretty much only Ebrium left Horde side... although it seems like <Rose> and <Awsome Grats> are catching up nicely in terms of progression.

Not to mention Plan B or rather the Simplicity Reborn saga as well ... /sigh.

Ever since i saw what it was like to raid with them i knew hardcore raiding was out for me thus the casual guild with more time for pvp than anything else.

@ Fox

Well... the nice thing about me being in <Ebrium> is, we kinda only raid 3 nights a week, and only really 2 nights are a must.

Some nights we finish at 10AM which is great.

Also we dont bother with Ulduar anymore which is great.

Well i was quite surprised when i read there is only 2 raiding nights on your recruitment page.

Ebrium is a great and respected guild :)

Someday i'll out dps sayaka's heals 1v1! *shakes fists*

I have a pally tank as my alt, and I must say although very well geared hunters can be an issue for threat sometimes, nothing can beat a well geared Warlock for threat generation. Its absolutely insane, if there is a well geared lock in my group I will almost always focus him for HoS and still watch the purple bar get dangerously close to mine on Omen.

That being said my main is a lock and I am fakking glad they are doing something about our threat generation in the patch tomorrow ;)

Yea the new patch is bringing great stuff for hunters... not so much in the official patch notes... More excited about the silent fixes which has been broken for yonks on hunters... esspecially MM hunters in particular.

follow up question

Was in a random instance last night on my hunter and the pally tank was using Seal of Command instead of SoV. Does anyone here use SoC?

Depends, SoV is great for keep agro on multiple targets, since HoR puts the DoT on 2 other mobs. I suppose for a boss SoC could work?

It is 100% good if he specced that way. In fact I want to change my prot spec on my pally to include that talent as well. TPS is very much like DPS. A dps pala in heroic on trash will use SoC, then on a boss fight they will use SoV or for belfs, Seal of Corruption.

Now why can't a prot pala not apply the same rules? If you ask me that was a smart pala. Easier to keep aggro on multiple targets on trash, as long as he switched back to SoV for boss fights. Not sure if he is alliance or horde, but horde calls both SoC.

I don't completely, agree, but not also completely disagree. SoV is great for keeping A LOT of aggro on a single target, in fact that is what I do, I even use my SoV relic to keep aggro high against hunters/locks in ilevel 258+ gear.

Now HoR might add the dot to multiple targets, but its not nearly as effective as SoC would be in my opinion at least.

Seal of Command is absolutely awesome for 5man instances, where everyone and their sister don't give 7 shears of **** about which target SHOULD die first.

Another thing Command helps with is the sort of mobs that randomly spawn a little helper add. Thinking of those little skeletons in UP that the warlock mobs summon. They're not ubermode and probably wont 1shot anyone, but its nice to know that your standard melee attacks will pick these up too without any added effort on your part.

On a boss, you're better off with Seal of Vengeance/Corruption.
Allthough, i must add, that again, when the boss has adds that he spawns i prefer Command again.
Thinking of the first boss in AN and OK... adds are never a problem for me there.

The other thing is, SoV is useless on mobs that die in less than 20 seconds, where SoC usually does more dps, and as such, more tps.

Originally specced in SoC when I thought it'd be a good idea with taking care of the adds in Ony. i've pretty much used it on all trash and most boss fights if I'm taking adds up to Uld10:p
