Thats great to hear! We have a Panasonic LED TV and the quality is unbeatable!
The LED panel is out of this world and also the refresh and contrast rates for an LCD panel is impressive! Also noticed the other day on one of our "rebadged" fridges is a "Indesit" from 1988 So i assume its like many products sold in South Africa at the time that was rebadged it has a Panasonic Compressor in.. Still works like a charm after 27 years.

Photo cats sold Panasonic products up until a point but the Koreans where killing them price wise in the Mass Market stores here..

But im mostly glad since Sony decided to give up on our market long ago and Japanese TV's where mostly way better than Samsung and the likes TV's but up until now we have no bloody choice in our retail stores other than to just buy Chinese or mostly Korean Ka K!

I bought a Panasonic TV in 1994. I never had any issues with it. When I gave it away last year it was still in working condition. I hope they still kept to the same quality processes that produced durable products.

They're going to position themselves the same way Sony did, and market (and price) their brand in a more premium segment. The net result, as the article says, will be that the mass market stores will still cater to the masses and sell the usual Samsung and LG. Unless they can try and compete on price, a few purists aren't going to help them turn a profit...

This takes me back hey. We had a National TV. I think it was 61cm? I'm not sure. It was black and had the control panel to the right. That TV was as solid as a Cortina. Not sure when my parents bought it but we retired it in the early 2000. Nothing wrong with it. It still worked. We just wanted a new TV.

Most of Korean stuff is made in China anyway. When they do manufacture in Korea they ship in Bangladeshi's and Indians to do the actual work. You may as well buy Chinese stuff, because that's what you are getting except at a inflated price.
 
I hope they haven't degraded into a company that manufactures products with a 2 year life expectancy
 
Have for past twenty years or so exclusively used Panasonic cameras. They are fantastic value for money though if you can find one to buy here you will 'pay through your nose'. I have always had my son buy them for me in America where they are relatively cheap and then post them here. Best camera I ever had (Besides Nikon F4 many years ago) was a Panasonic FZ50 which was stolen. I currently use a ZS30 (TZ40) which gives me brilliant pictures and HD video with 20+20X zoom. Hope they bring their full camera range here at, hopefully, competitive prices!
