Panasonic relaunched in SA

My parents have a 54cm Panasonic TV which my dad bought for my mother while she was pregnant with my sister so she could watch TV in their bedroom. Its still running in their room and hasn't (to my knowledge) given a single problem..

My sister was born in 1990.

great news.

On a related note, I was surprised to see they made bicycle tyres at one point.

Speaking at a media briefing on 20 April, Daizo Ito – regional head of Panasonic for India, South Asia, Middle East, and Africa – said the quality of its products would set it apart in SA.
Marketing speak for "it'll cost more than our competitors"...

/inb4 it's worth it

Awesome. I loved their products, nothing like a good quality Japanese product.

For me a Japanese electronic product feels as solid as a German car

If I remember correctly they used to make the best plasma's... they may have stopped making them now though.

My dad still has a VHS player from Panasonic that works perfectly. It was one of those units you used to scan the barcode in the mags and then it programs the machine to start recording. Don't see the barcodes no more but that scanner still works :D

Googled it now. J40 was the model :o
