Paper-saving ink

This will give a complete new meaning to : "I gave it to you in black on white" WOW think about it!!!

Well, why don't xerox start by only producing printers that by default print on both sides of the paper?

What?
A too obvious 20-50% savings on paper?

No ... they want to introduce disappearing ink, that will cause other problems ... like 2 printers will have to be installed instead of just one, one loaded with disappearing ink, the other with normal ink, thereby increasing printer sales ... kekekeke

Utter BS says I.

An interesting new technology, developed in Xerox's laboratories in Canada and California, could provide a solution. The technology, known as erasable paper, means that ink on a printed page disappears in a predetermined period - usually less than 24 hours.

interesting scams can come from this... imagine signing a contract and 24 hours later its gone

Probably will cost R500 for 'n ink cartridge, print bloody slow, and you get 10 prints per catridge.

OK, now I guess the idea is to re-use the paper again and again. The inkjet i've got just loves paper jams. The tiniest little fold in the paper causes a jam especially the corners. I don't think it will work that well to be honest.

Yeah - how about some ink saving paper.

Xerox needs to know that this has been done for years already and most companies out there are masters at it... our pay checks!!! :)

This is really going to help us boost fraud in South Africa. Somebody could print a page using the ink, get you to sign an agreement, wait for it to fade and then print whatever they like on the page.

That said I think that it is a good idea and if it is not too expensive I might give it a go.

There so much potential for this, and not all good.

So true!!! Never even thought of it that way. Do you work for the government? ;)

Xerox (and most other big printer makers) already has such printers. We have several configured to do double sided printing by default. We also have two printers configured to print A5 booklets from A4 pages (even stapled for us) by default.
