I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on an S25 ultra that's been imported and since it's not from this region, some of the features like Samsung pay and call recording aren't available. Has anyone flashed an imported phone to get all features in South Africa and how is the flag holding up, including system updates?

This doesnt seem like a great idea. A nerfed samsung is not great.

Why? Your warranty will be out the window
I've gotten so used to not having physical cards that I need samsung pay at this point. Will 3rd party apps like Google pay work even though the native app doesn't? I tend to prefer native apps as they tend to be integrated better.

Don't do it, you'll struggle to get it fixed if needed.

just check it have the SA cell bands and for that price , I will root the device and reload the software

Edit :
Samsung pay and auto updates won't work .

If the model number is the same, you can flash the South African variant on it.

Generally wouldn't do it if stuff like payments wouldn't work, it's one of the primary uses of the phone. You can set it so it uses Google Wallet instead though, should work fine.

Yeah I bought an S24U last year with the UAE CSC and flashed it with the South African (XFA) CSC. The whole process took like 5 minutes. Samsung Pay, call recording and system updates work just fine. You're not getting any local Samsung warranty so keep that in mind.

I also recommend using SamFW Tool instead of Odin. With SamFW you simply enable developer option, select your desired CSC and click flash, so you're less likely to screw up. No need to factory reset or download anything besides the tool itself. Only use Odin if you want to flash the full firmware which is unnecessary for what you're trying to achieve .

Any idea if this would work with the A56? Im on the fence on buying what I suspect is a grey import from Amazon local. The price is about 3K difference. Either this or the Redmi Note 14+ for a similar price.

Which link do you use to get the South African variant?

The outlook is dubious...

Hahaha I'm kidding, I have no idea...

They also had S24 Ultras @ R11,000, Which have now also disappeared.
I know what must have happened, and to be honest perhaps its a blessing in disguise. I bought my phone from elsewhere (a place I've used before).

As soon as I "bought" that phone, the URL went to the same listing but the seller name changed and the price went up by 5k. The reviews were also the same and delivery date was within a few days instead of ~13 April.

Takealot mailed me with the cancellation saying the seller couldn't fulfil the order. But the evidence tells me they could, but chose not to. So I mailed them back saying its fine (and got my refund), but then showed them how dodge that oke is LOL.

I am just disappointed because it was such a good price. It's probably for the better though.
