Paris 2024 Olympics

Women's triathlon now on. Men directly after that.

So I guess they fixed the water (or so they think. Will see how many get sick afterwards lol)

Will be intresting the athletes will definately swallow some water so pretty sure a few will get sick.
 
Why are so many women falling on their bikes without being touched? It is not raining.

Do their bikes not have tread?

Wet roads, oil, nerves. Happens to even the best pro cyclists from time to time.
 
Fingers crossed for Henri Schoeman who didn't even finish the Tokyo 2021 race due to injury.

Also SA's Smith and Baxter's SF is today in the rowing men's pair from 10:30am.
 
Good first swimming lap at least for Schoeman and the other South African Riddle :)
 
Hopefully no bike issues for Schoeman. In the lead group, hope it stays that way. Riddle also there.

Reminds of me of this year's SA Lifesaving champs. Held in Durban. Everyone that is everyone complained and warned them, yet they forged ahead, and the ocean events had to be canceled due to water quality issues.

It's like deciding that the poles are wet this year, so instead of pole-vaulting the athletes are going to be doing a combination high and long jump instead. If you have to then at least change it to being spaced out and athletes doing laps in a pool or something.

Well luckily it looks like none of this came to pass, and they are doing the proper triathlon.

2 laps to go and Schoeman is 17th almost a minute behind.
 
Disappointing day for SA in triathlon and rowing :(

Schoeman finishes 20th 2:20 behind winner. Riddle 25th.
