Well that link I posted you don't need paid access. Its just highlights and I don't have paid access, or at least not to DSTV/supersport.

Can't just pack up and move an entire triathlon event to another part of the city. They have to close down entire parts of the city for the running and cycling parts. Would be a nightmare.

If the water quality doesn't improve the triathlon will be turned into a duathlon without the swimming. Marathon swimming which is also supposed to be in the Seine will then be moved to the rowing venue.

Surely they can't just change tri- to biathlon? It completely changes the nature of the sport.

I agree but that's apparently what the plans are if the water can't be fixed. 2 running sections and 1 cycling.

After a few days they used to make a lot of games from all sorts of sports free to watch too, don't know if they still do that. Certainly some hilites.

Ridiculous. It's not like the organisers haven't been warned about this for almost a decade, yet they chose the pigheaded approach.

It completely changes the event. Very unfair to the athletes.

Reminds of me of this year's SA Lifesaving champs. Held in Durban. Everyone that is everyone complained and warned them, yet they forged ahead, and the ocean events had to be canceled due to water quality issues.
