Paris 2024 Olympics

Galaxy S24 Ultras were used to film the sailing competition at the 2024 Olympic games

Paris is crowded with fans who came to watch the Olympics live, but many more people are watching from home – and Samsung has been helping to get them as close to the action as possible.

Right now, fans can follow the sailing competition that is taking place in the waters near Marseille. Samsung and the organizers are using Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra to livestream the progress of each competitor.

The phones were installed on the sailboats used in these events. For the kitesurfing and windsurfing events, each athlete had an S24 Ultra strapped to their shoulder. Also, there were phones mounted on the buoys to provide additional angles.

Getting this to work was no easy task as these phones were put in terrible conditions for a digital gadget – they have to survive being splashed by salty water and being out in the hot sun all day long.

Don't joke, there was an article about it the other day.

EDIT:

Darts could be an Olympic sport by 2028 - with betting traders predicting the sport will almost certainly grace the biggest stage by the 2036 summer games if it doesn't make its debut in LA

Kayak cross (aka Mario Kart with boats according to social media) quarters, semis and finals on now.

I'd say that's even more gut wrenching for him, to be so close yet never make it to the podium. Poor dude
After 13 years with Werner Prinsloo as his coach...imagine what he could've reached with a proper international coach and coaching program. This guy has been running on raw talent all these years.

What a pity.
