That lady in the 800m was really disappointing in the final after running a good semi.
So who's left to maybe win us a medal?

I don't think she did bad. She really stepped up her game to make a final, which is an amazing achievement. The others were just that much better in the final

Yup, the javelins were changed in 1986, the world record before the change was 104.8m.

Same as the current spec. Vetter threw nearly 98m a few years ago. 97.76m or something, 2nd best with current spec after Zelezny.
