Bol moet olympische titel aan McLaughlin laten en blijft steken op brons

Femke Bol pakt op de 400 meter horden haar tweede medaille in Parijs. Eerder won ze goud op de 4x400 meter gemengde estafette.

Bol basically says that she felt strong over the first 250m and then the lactic acid just kicked in and she lost it. Then when somebody overtook her it shook her because she didn't expect that to happen and then she took an extra step at the hurdle which is just dumb.

If you watch the video she mentions that the bronze at the world champs was from a good race but this bronze was from one of her worst races.

USA almost lost to South Sudan in a warm up game, that would have teen the "upset for the ages". Serbia has a good team and the NBA MVP but agreed anyone beaating the USA is a major upset.

They were making EVERYTHING before the 4th quarter. Unfortunately these things tend to balance out and the superior team won.

In addition: Serbia’s best player - Nikola Jokic - was in foul trouble meaning he had to be less aggressive. Team USA definitely took advantage.
 
BTW, the women’s handball semi final is hot. Denmark pushing Norway hard with a few moments to go.

I think there was a slow first handover.
The last guy was gaining on the US runner, we could have been first.
The guys are amazing.
 
S. African pair in the canoeing k2 500m semis today anytime from 11am or so (channel 207 on dstv). Will watch for sure. One of SA's last hopes for a medal along with the K1 SF and final tomorrow with Hamish Lovemore.

Don't think they will make it today though but you never know. Some of those Europeans are too strong. Hamish has a better chance tomorrow I think but I hope he has enough power left for the k1 because he is in the k2 today. 🤞

Women's 400 m hurdles looked very suspect.
