The problem is not so much intra EU, but more in the countries neighbouring non EU countries (such as Croatia) with a lot of military grade weapons coming from the Balkans (from the Kosovo war).

These border are quite easy to pass and discussions have been ongoing for years for better control (also Greece for immigrants).
 
Well at least the French post offices are worse than ours. It seems that this sort of thing is not such an uncommon occurence. Maybe we are better off here in SA with our striking SAPO vs them.

Hostage crisis in a French post office ?

Being French, it's the first time I hear about it, so I don't know where you got that it's not such an uncommon occurence...
 
A mentally ill person takes hostages but doesn't kill anyone. Followers of the religion of peace take hostages and kill over a dozen.

Makes you wonder, who's really the mentally ill ones?
