Parking/Hand Brake does not engage!

Yes, the only issue seems to be the spring contained within the mechanism of the handbrake. It seems to get stuck and restrict the button on the end of the handbrake from releasing.
 
I think Ford has a good reputation if I look at the bigger picture (yes, I do realise that there were some issues with the Kuga but I dont really see that as a manufacturer's complete and utter downfall...) and I think I made the right choice. Sometimes these things happen....

These things happen but brakes are a safety item on a car, yes the handbrake included, so they were supposed to do more than book you for next week.

It seems they've learnt nothing from the Kuga scandal.

I am going to follow up now with them again. I didn't really realise the risk involved as I have just stopped using the handbrake now and leave the car on flat surfaces in gear - if I had to park on an incline I would be screwed.

I had one of these...
Gave issues from day dot.

First item that failed was the ABS
Then the radio
And then the heater started to smoke when used.

Couldn't get it sold, so surrendered it to the bank.

With Hyundai their company policy compels them to attend to potentially dangerous problems. Even if its just changing tired wipers. Yes they include those as a dangerous problem as poor visibility is a bad thing.

OT, but did you know Hyundai will charge you R1800 for a set of new wipers? :erm:
 
I think it's called a "Safety brake" for a reason... They don't seem to realise that or they just don't care????
 
Ford (Somerset west) stripped the thread of the adjusting nut, causing my handbrake to fail.
