Parliament's digitalisation project failed and irreplaceable documents have likely been destroyed by the fire

Geez, a gaggle of cellphones with CamScanner loaded, with some "desperately looking for work" youngsters and this project could have been done in a month ..

MPs checked the pages, unfortunately they can't read so skipped over those and just looked for the pictures.

In summary, the cANCer putty's negligence has destroyed all parliamentary records of Apartheid and probably Jan van Riebeeck as well.

Maybe Jan will finally be off the hook for loadshitting and all the other bizarre things the cANCer putty posthumously blames on him.

Jacobus van Zuma, that's who is to blame.
O sweet child... as long as they can blame Jan/Apartheid he will be on the hook (till Jesus comes).

The longer I think about what happened with the fire and all.... the more I think this was deliberately done by the ANC. Think about it. What better way to destroy records that have history attached that they don't like.....

The ANC hates the fact SA was once a wealthy and successful nation until they took over because of majority rule.....since 1995 they have managed to **** up everything that was handed to them on a platter. Not just **** it up....but steal everything whilst ****ing it up.

And then ask for bail outs. The Cadres have their own agenda. They will not stop until all is stolen or destroyed and that will be that.

And there is sweet blue ****all anyone can do that is honest and hardworking to change anything.

Why should SA be different from the rest of Africa? We only need the soil and live like the Africans did 500 years ago. But the soil alone would not feed 60 million people.

I had a whole post going here... deleted it.
Let's just say my choice of words was pretty cruel for the ANC. I will stop now.

It really is not that difficult thing to scan these docs into the cloud and just attach some AI and search indexer to the data. All you need is 1 good cloud dev to set this up. Should take less than a month to set up.

"Over the course of two years, an outside company was paid millions of rands to scan Parliament’s collection of about 7,000 volumes of material or seven million individual pages."

That is the start of the tender issue.

If you go by discounted volume, it should never even come close to R1 per page at this volume so how could it have cost millions to scan seven million individual pages. I would love to know the actual cost of this project, maybe I am reading into things but I highly doubt it was less than R7million and probably closer to R20million+ knowing how this government completely overspend on all their tenders.
20% retainer = R1.1m
So R5.5m

Where? (Link?)

www.familysearch.org

While they do have many hundreds of millions records on South Africans already digitized and searchable on their website, most are still not indexed and made available online, but could be accessed from their offices across the globe. There are many, many batches not yet indexed, but they are hidden on their system and can be accessed if you come across the links to them.
