..parties..

LOL, I hear you.

I'm 26 and used to frequent the same places you did. Sundowners has most ndefinitely take a turn for the worst. They used to have regular day-long festivals on the weekends and it always had a great vibe. They hardly have those anymore and when they do, they suck. And most of the time it is a sausage fest. But I wouldn't say the crowd has gotten younger. It has always been the same; highschool aged teens and just out of high school folks. We just got older. When you're 20, seeing a bunch of 16-year olds is alright. When you're 26, it's not alright. And illegal. . .:p

I never liked Black Dahlia and the Doors is so-so. Tempos closed millenia ago if I'm not mistaken.

The sad thing is in general the South sucks for entertainment.

I gave up on doors. Zeplins now is rocking. Tried Red Room for the first time last weekend. They had metal bands at the bohemian this weekend. Then it hailed.

I am in the opposite situation - 40 and still partying like I am 20 and I have watched the decline of the metal scene. (Please, the REAL metal scene - do not post some Parlotones BS here). My feelings are

Zeplins: was great in its day. So, tried it out again about a year ago. Had a jol. It is definitely on my options list for most weekends. Place has just moved to a new venue this month and I have not tried that one yet but I will shortly. RECOMMENDED.

Doors: Got gatvol (and lifetime ban) a long time ago. I have been readmitted (ban was not of my doing) but I gotta say it is nowhere near as good as it was.

Red room: Older crowd. I had a party and a half but quite possibly the 18 Hansas that were in me and the beautiful woman [-]I wanted me in[/-] that took us there had a lot to do with that experience.

Bohemian: Being beaten horribly at pool by said chick probably made me not enjoy the place the way I used to when I stayed around the corner but it is a good mix of people, food is OK and music not too bad. Students mainly so no teenagers.

I like my Mac, but I am not a fanbooi by any means.... the company sucks ass..
The chick beat me AT POOL :) 10-4 she kept reminding me...
The banning really wasn't my fault
And c'mon, who doesn't like metal?

I won't comment on the drinking :D

But - I will say this - never give up on the party. My daughter is fast approaching the age where she will want to party too and at the very least, I can be a decent enough parent to advise her on the right places etc. Also, I have raised her to love metal.

Funny story on the metal: all the clubs I used to go to played rock through to metal and many had bands. I'd always shout Freebird and only once did a band actually know and respond correctly to that call. Death Blues Band (or something like that) at the Radium. So recently, I have taken to shouting SLAYER and I have yet to have a bite. Closest I came was Brent Harris (ex Just Jinjer) who then went into a Metallica medley to keep me quiet. Well done Brent - you're a legend.
