Behold !

Passage night lights so that the rug rat can see where they're going at night. The LED's are currently set to 75% brightness. They may seem dim in the video clip. But during the witching hours they're like a second sun ! I offered to turn them down but was given a thumbs down instead

They are motion triggered by an mmWave sensor and stay on for 5 mins so that bathroom business can be completed. Obviously sped up for the video clip

The LED's are WS2812B's. So they can be changed to any colour. They could also be used for other things like alerts. But right now, they're just nifty night lights.

I have an ESP32 addiction :S

Nice, what's the unit cost?

Got some of these from temu: https://share.temu.com/TL4OTm4lCfA

At R45 or so it's hard to beat but I've been thinking it would be nice to be able to change timing and sensitivity.

ESP32 - R128
LEDs - R14 for a pack of 4
Breakout board - R35. Not strictly necessary. I've made it a habit to try something new with every ESP project.

The rest of the bits I had lying around, namely :

mmWave sensor- R102
4-wire comms cable - About R80 ( 8m @ R10p/m )
CAT5e cable - Free
USB charger and cable - Free
2x 2x4 pvc boxes - Free

So all in, R400 - R500 if you had to buy it all
