Passing a car

I was driving on MickeyD highway in Port Elizabeth this morning on the left lane behind a car traveling about 100 there were faster cars in the fast lane When there was a good gap I put on the indicator and pass The car who I moved in front of did not slow down at all driving about 10 kilometer faster than myself As he nearly drive into me, he brake hard. I think he was not concentrating He hoot at me drove next to me to I suppose show me some friendly sign. I did not even look at him as I believe he was at fault
Clearly there wasn't a sufficient gap if he had to slam on his anchors to avoid an accident.

I love chasing cars, problem is when they are parked and I end up with a flat nose.

I passed a kidneystone once. It hurt like a mother. Can't imagine passing a car.

So you cant wait for the slow vehicle and move your slow vehicle into a lane in front of a faster approaching vehicle? Were you aware of this faster approaching vehicle when you made your lane change?

He was driving just a bit faster than me, and still far enough for me to go safely in front of him, my indicators clearly alerting him. He should he applied some patience.

Thanks, exactly my point, why didn't you apply some patience by staying behind the slow car and/or speed up when moving into the faster lane so you could pass the slow car faster and then move back into the previous lane? ;)

My insurer doesn't like me passing cars unless the car is really dawdling and there is sufficient space to smoothly accelerate passed it. Consequently I don't pass too many cars nowadays. Sad times. :(

You see this every time you in the road. It's like they can't judge the speed and distance needed to safely execute this action.

It's like when you see a car wanting to turn into the street ahead of you. They will wait till you are almost right on top of them to take action. Never Mind that are you slamming on the brakes because their thought process is so damn slow.

Stupid OP is stupid. If you're going to move to the faster Lane, no matter if indicating or if there's a decent gap, it's common sense to accelerate and match the speed of the cars in that Lane.

Not many drivers have common sense. Actually it's rare.

When I pass something as big as a car I make sure to eat oily foods... it helps me "pass" it easier.

you may change lanes, when it is safe to do so, that goes for all road rules.

just because you put your indicator on does not give you the right to drive where you want. it is to indicate your intent, not your action.

you should of waited for the faster car to pass before changing to that lane. that is the correct and courteous way to do it.
