Passport Application in Cape Town

I went to Stellenbosch DHA on Monday (20Jul, day before the OP). Arrived at 11:35 and was #11 in the queue. Got helped at 12:45 and was out by 12:50. Total time 1h 15mins.

I did need to bring 2 photos for passport application. Cost was R400.

They said it would take about 4 weeks, but (quote) "there is a long queue in Paarl, Cape Town and Bellville where you can stand and then get it in 2 weeks"....

Did they use the photos? As in did you see them use them? I thought everything was meant to be computerised by now...
