Passport Applications

Thought I'd give an update.

Had my appointment at 2pm at FNB Greenpoint. Got there at 13:45 and was directed to the Home Affairs queue. All 3 booths were full and 2 people in the queue in front of me. At about 13:55 a guy came up to us to confirm our ID no.'s to make sure we had an appointment. By 14:05 I was called up. Did left and right thumb print, then into the photo booth, then signature By 14:15 I was done and will collect in 2 weeks.

Seems the biggest thing is getting an appointment. The lady in the queue in front of me said she'd been trying to get an appointment since February. Guess I was just lucky to get one in 2 weeks. But overall a great experience.

Wow that was quick. I assume I need to collect where I applied i.e. FNB Greenpoint?

I went for my fingerprints on
2 August, received notification that the passport was ready for collection on 12 August. That's really decent.

Anybody else had issue where there is no timeslots to do fingerprints at any of the FNBs? I tried Greenpoint even all others. Nothing.

Anybody aware of other options to get my passport?

Have been trying for months now to get a slot with FNB at any of the passport branches.
Other option is to go to Home Affairs.

I’ve been trying FNB for two weeks for my 3 kids.

We managed to an appointment for one kid before the site crashed. When then refreshed there were zero slots for the other two.

We tried every day for two weeks and eventually just booked home affairs yesterday.

Got all 3 kids on the 24th October

Fortunately my MiL banks with ABSA so we went through them and went yesterday. Both kids sorted at the current price of R400 each.

The people at the branch were still Home Affairs employees, so we had to prod them along.

Ok thats cool. I made the payments already through FNB when i did the application. Not sure if i can change the place / bank now.
