Patch 3.3 is downloading!

Hooray, I see patch 3.3 is downloading! I am really looking forward to this patch for two reasons.

The new water elemental glyph! Will make solo`ing dailies waaaaaaay easier for me.

The new LFG system... it will make leveling my toons very easy and fast. I hate hate hate questing, but I love instances, so this should mean there will always be a LFG for whatever low level instance I want to run!

How long since the patch starts downloading to its release do you think?
 
maybe 2-3weeks i guess. Patch is usually a week after ptr is closed. But then again blizzard are very unpredictable these days :P
 
I think its a lot closer to release than what we realise.
Remember IC will not be opened as a complete instance. It will be opened in sections during the weeks as guilds progress.

Wouldnt be surprised if the first wing opened up in the next 2 weeks.

Remember the Sunwell launch.

This is exactly the same. All in one go but it will open as progression happens.
If you didn't experience Sunwell I can't really explain it :o

Yes... one wing will open in IC... people will farm and grind it... week or two later, the next wing opens up... Its been stated more than once in blue posts that IC will not open up as one complete instance from the word go.
 
The patch is 470 odd mb`s. (Roughly that amount.. I dont feel like starting the download at the moment as I am in game)
 
As far as I understand it this is only the first part of a larger patch, the preload as you would call it. But all in all its a good sign, we are getting all the more closer to the release of 3.3

Blizzard are doing a gated release along with limited attempts on certain bosses.

Basically one last stand at extending content people are going to faceroll anyway. BTW no hard modes will open till the Lich king has been killed on normal so at the current setup expect bosses to be face rolled for another 4 - 6 weeks at least then hard mode will open.
 
dont suppose there is a friendly person out there thats will to burn a few copies of the prepatch? as an unemployed returnee from the uk 475megs is a lot to DL when u buying 4gigs a month from vodacon and dont have any money coming in

ps Im in cape town and can donate a cd to the cause, and come pick it up (small bonus to living with my dad again after 7 or 8 years)
 
I let the patch run after I stop playing at night. So should have it completed over the weekend.

45minutes ?! are u DL'ing it from a mirror site, or from blizz? cos the blizz downloader is incredibly slow. it was even when i was in the UK. think any patch larger than 50megs i DL'ed from mirror sites

From the blizzard loader it takes ages... I don't count nor do I know how long it takes. I finish WoW, exit the game and let the launcher run. Next morning it's done. Now if it took 2 minutes or 12 hours I don't know :D
