Just started watching this on History channel, as the US version is quite good, but what a disappointment.
Seems the pawn shop is run by the Russian Mafia, or someone similar.
Everything looks staged. No South African accents.
Watched 10 minutes, and that was 10 minutes too long. :sick:
 
I'm disappointed, but not surprised. Still trying to pick up on guys' names but I'm picking up faked accents. You'll hear like a typically standard South African accent when they greeted that woman with the plane for example, but then their accents changed as soon as they got up close. I've also heard their accents changing numerous times during the general interactions though. Not digging it at all.

I saw it scrolling through the channels but didn't bother since I thought it would be a waste of my time. Reading the above, I am glad I didn't waste time on it. Our producers are like "monkey see monkey do". Does anyone know of a reality kind of show that originated in SA?
 
Heard them being interviewed on 5FM yesterday morning, they said the show will be uniquely South African... Russian accents, but why?
