Paying for other peoples data?

Something just struck me...At the moment we all have to pay for "data" that we download, which is fair, BUT......Ever thought about it??..The data that we download is NOT from Telkom, but from other peoples computers....so in actual fact, we must pay the PEOPLE and NOT Telkom...I mean, put it this way...We ALREADY pay for the "service", not so??? lol

Dude, please - no attempting to post something profound until you're at least 18 and given it a like a week's thought.

The reason you pay Telkom for bandwidth is because it is being switched through their multi-billion rand infrastructure.
 
Reminds me of the guy from "The Office" who tries to think of something profound on each episode, and ends up saying nothing.

You know... isn't it like weird that you sit on 'stands' at the rugby stadium?

Well heres an interesting thought I mentioned on another post that I can relate to. We are the only country in the world that pays for an adsl line rental. And read www.hellkom.co.za ... it says that it is unclear what the line rental is actually for...because according to some statement it is not the rental of the copper wires connected to your house. So what is it then exactly??

So yes why are we paying for this and the data when one is clearly non-existent. This is a form of fraud then on telkoms part as far as im concerned. They should clean up their act.

oh and LOL @ Mo the Meerkat getting owned :) I hate that little bugger. I wanna do things to it thats worse than what I wanna do to Barney the Dinosaur

Apparently the DSL rental is for the DSLAM port, but the thing is, that if everybody connected to that DSLAM paid once, it is already paid fully, so every month after that is pure profit.

I for one fully agree with you Sir. Please PM me so I can send you my bank account details, as you may or may not have browsed and read some of my other postings on this site....therefore you owe me R200.00. :D
