paying for parking @ work ?

The previous company i worked for decided they were moving and at the new offices we would have to pay R200 p/m for the parking..... luckily i got another job before they finally moved.

It really sucks when they expect you to pay for parking.....

My GF works at SAA, and needs to walk very far to get from the free parking to her job - otherwise if she wants to park closer, it's R50 per day! madness I tell you, madness.

walking is healthy ;)

free parking here. i'd never work at a place where i'm expected to pay for parking. unless my salary is adjusted accordingly, i.e. doubled :D

...compared to the 450's and 500's maybe R255 p/m not so bad, well thats if you have to pay

Have any of the payers questioned your bosses about the charge? What was their reasoning for charging you? Is the parking off the premises or are you merely subsidising the company's rent? If anyone wants to challenge their company about the charge it would be best to drum up support from the sales team who have no choice but to use their cars - in this case there is no way that the company can charge them for arriving at work. What next? Charging for your office space?
