Hi there,

Does anyone know what the charges are if I send money from my AUD Global account to an Australian Commbank account?

*Edit: 0.55% Commission fee (Min R160, Max R650) with an extra R115 admin fee.

I transferred £ to a couple of Brit brats and got hit with those two fees plus a month later another fee for the same transaction went off my cheque account. This was something the FNB staff couldn't explain but vaguely related to the receiving bank.

When making the payment they ask who is responsible for the fees. It can be either the sender, receiver or split. I choose based on who I'm sending money to.

When I paid the rent for my wife's UK accommodation I chose to split the fees. I paid the FNB charges from my cheque account and the receivers bank would have deducted their fees before the funds cleared in the receivers account.

When I transferred money to my wife's UK bank account I chose to cover all the fees. The FNB charges came off immediately and then a week later there was another charge from debited from my account for the fees from the receiving bank. It was only about R75 from the receiving bank for a payment of £400.

Hi guys,

Quick question. I transferred from my cheque account to my AUD Global Account today, how long will this take to reflect?

Then, does anyone know how long it will take to send money from my Global Account to Australia?

It takes 3 or usually 4 days for my salary to be transferred from Finland to SA every month.

I paid money from my Global account to CommBank in Australia. I got the SMS and email to say everything is done and approved but the money doesn’t show in Aus yet. Is this normal? I did it Wednesday morning.

I've done about 5 payments and they all cleared within a few minutes. They were all uk payments though.

That’s not good news.
I have double checked and all account info was right. FNB does say it will take 1-5 business days but then I have got all the approval messages.

Well the money never ever showed, both banks won’t accept responsibility basically so now I need to try for a reversal of the money. Wonder how much that is going to cost.

I may be completely missing something but for the life of me I cannot see how/where to make payments from the FNB Global account. It doesn't appear for me as an option under payments.

To be clear, I am trying to send from this FNB global account in USD to a bank account in the US. I'm assuming this is not a forex transaction as I had to go through the BoP process when transferring from my normal cheque account to the global account.

From this thread it is obviously possible, but I cannot see where/how this is done.

Thanks for the help in advance!

I use the FNB app

Select payments then global payment. Once off global payment should take you to the screenshot below. Screenshot_20210319-145915_FNB.jpg
