So, it seems VA only accept cash payments if your debit order doesn't go through. How retarded is that, is my first question, and secondly does anyone here know a way to pay them via eft?

My debitorder bounced once last year, they called me the same day to inform me and then reshedual a debit order for the following day.

Would you mind sharing what is the going rate for Virgin Active membership? I tried calling them but they wanted me to come to the gym for a consultation before they would give me the price which I found weird. Does everybody have a different rate then?

R260-something... National membership via discovery.

I used to sell memberships there when they where still called Health and Racquet Clubs. I would hazard a guess that they want you to come in so that they can "strong-arm" you into signing up.

Yeah, that could work. I was out of the country, and had to pay three months arrears, and who the Hell carries that kind of cash in JHB these days? ,

Well I pay R625 per month, just for access to my club. Then my mom has a life insurance policy with liberty. She has an extra called own your life rewards. It's about R120 per dependent, i.e me and my brothers. Then everytime you go to the gym they pay you back R50 per visit so 12 visits a month earns you R600 so all in all my gym costs is less than R200 per month provided I go 12 times a month. The gym membership is between you and the gym. The gym just informs liberty of my visits. They then pay out the R600 around the 10 of every month for the previous months visits. You also get one free movie ticket per dependent per week with the liberty policy and discounts at clothing outlets and restaurants. Well worth it in my opinion.

Still a valid question? Did you come right

Yoh, buddy, I honestly don't ever remember asking the question.

At that time I would have been asking for a friend, seeing as I wasn't then (or have ever been ) a member of that franchise gym. I think she came right, although how is now a mystery to me, and she doesn't go to Virgin active anymore, she goes to some niche kick-boxing thing nowadays.
