Hi guys

Just wanted to know if this is a legit portal for paying fines? Apparently I've got like R2000 in outstanding fines, according to people who pitched up at my parents place (I know, I know, but I used it as a "stable" addy since it's from my home town and I moved about at one time). I checked on the site and there does seem to be a lot from 2022, mostly R200 / R400's.

I used to use another site, think it was ViewFines or some such, but then I found out they had been hacked, so I generally
am a little weary of these websites now. Normally, if I get an SMS or emailed fine, I'll EFT straight to the depts acc.

Thanks for the help / advice.

Happy Friday!

Can use https://www.paycity.co.za to view and pay them.
Thanks, I checked with them, but they are showing two fines from end of last year that I know I paid via EFT, which is a bit troubling. I spoke to some of the people here at work and most of them said they've used PayMyFines, but honestly their site just does not inspire confidence, PayCity I know. Also, did check PayCity before and these fines were not loaded there which is surprising to see them on there now.

Also registered on FinesSA and they have an even different number - some of which I know are paid, it's very ****ing confusing.

One other thing is (since this is almost all in stellies) is that the actual fines at one point said both PayMyFines and PayCity, but then eventually it only because PayMyFines.

I admire you for being responsible enough to even check your fines online. I've had so many "so called" fines in life as a driver, i have paid very few. I only pay those that are given on the spot & I signed for. As for the cameras and sh@#T, i could not care less. As long as I can renew my car & drivers without this being an issue- I'm good.
If the law comes knocking at my door at some point - I'll deal with it then.
In GP , when I used to live there years ago, I was caught in one of those Aarto campaign crappy roadblocks where I was showed that I have 8 unpaid fines in GP alone. I managed to talk my way out of it with the "promise" that I will definitely pay them. Never did till today. Now I live by the coast and its been 6 years later.

But to each's own, pay your fines- it is the right thing to do.

Yeah, I know. A lot of people told me to ignore camera fines, but I usually pay them. It's a not that common but common enough happening tbh, since I tend to never really drive all that fast. I mean relatively to what I've heard some people I know get. Like maybe 10kph (which is normally just due to me not being aware that I've exceeded) to 15kph or so.

It is almost all limited to peak hours in the morning and afternoon. There's one spot that's really shitty, going out of Stellies, along Polka, as you go past the Shell, there's a bridge over the railroad there, and right next to it is a tree, and in the late afternoons they place the box under that tree, in the darkness of the shade.

The only saving grace there is mostly the traffic is so congested you don't have the opportunity to speed.

What sort of speeds? And what car? Just curious
She gets most of her fines in 60km or 80kmh zones. Almost always 15 or 20km over the speed limit.

Cars - depends what she feels like driving for The day. Prado, corolla cross, sportage etc.

Oh ok so nothing hectic then. Maybe Durban is just lawless but I have only received one fine here in 10 years. 83 in a 60. Weird thing is I have driven that speed before and since on that road everyday for 7 years on my home from work. Only once was there a camera. It's on an uphill just after a downhill so I think they aren't actually allowed to have it there. I digress, I did pay it. Also got the full colour picture of my first "certificate"

So, I've spoken to my parents over the weekend, apparently the lady was there with a court summons... but she refused to give it, or a date to my mom. Said I need to provide proof that I paid the fines, she'll call me, but then I get told (by my mom) that I can phone any old traffic dept. to find out what is going on.

I'm going to phone the traffic dept for the town - since where I get the fines, and my hometown fall under an overarching municipality, but I still find it really weird that they wouldn't share the court order / date.

Meanwhile, the fines I did pay via PayMyFines are all off my profile - so aside from the sussiest looking invoice / statement they send out, it seems they are paid and done.

Bit confusing tbh.

Odd. I thought a court summons delivered to your registered address and handed to an adult is all legit and counts. Unless the lady did not have a summons

Dunno, my mom can be... a bit off at times with what actually happened. She says the woman had a letter with her but refused to give it.

So, last year I checked on PayCity - as I've used them before, EoY and they had 0 fines under my profile, last week I checked after this happened, and they had basically all of them + ones I have paid, FinesSA similarly had extra fines from PayMyFines.

So I paid some of the fines last week via PayMyFines, left it till yesterday, went to check - and the ones I paid were removed. So this morning I checked on the other portals, PayCity showed an empty profile yet again, and FinesSA showed that the fines I had paid via PayMyFines were cleared off of their list as well, which leads me to believe these fines are still payable, anyway, I'll phone the dept. to find out what is going on, if there's older stuff I'm not finding.

Thanks for your feedback etc. guys, it's appreciated.

Received phone call, citing my email address and ID nr, followed by an email with about 8 fines, dating back to 2020.
Then checked on CoCT eportal. Only 2 fines outstanding, bút I was out if the country on that particular date. And the 2nd one is an area that I hardly ever drive, especially on a Sunday.
And neither have pics.
Reported this to my councilor for fraud investigation.

It is legit. I use it often to pay my wifes speeding fines.
www.paymyfines.co.za ? My dad got an sms and he asked me to pay on his behalf. I don't want my credit card details to be stolen... (absa doesn't support virtual cards).

Edit: It seems to be legit because all the details of the fine checks out. I'm just scared of using my cc on that site.

Both paycity and paymyfines lists a fine that I have on my name. But paycity does not list his, I think paycity doesn't support his municipality.

Hi John, I paid PayMyFines on 23 Nov yet CoCT has now issued a warrant for non-payment. After endless hassles, I learnt that they are Traffic Management Technologies. Call centre number is 021 126 0600 and email address is [email protected]. Very bad service. I will not be using them again.
