PC as a Gift

Good point- I never take the efficiency into account :/
Yep measured with a UPS.

Back to the framerate thing- your screen is actually limiting you - unless you're running it on 100hz/200hz TV (100/200 Frames Per Second) :)
Hehe, perhaps I should steal my dad's 32" Samsung 6 series screen (full HD) that runs at 200Hz :D

I think that giving an i7 PC as a gift is overboard. i5 760 with a GTX 460 should be enough, unless the person on the receiving end already has a high end PC...

I am thinking of rather not going the Sli route. What would be the best card that I can buy for R4000-R4500.

Thanks for all the help so far everyone.
The current top of the range cards are the nVidia GTX 480 and 580 and the ATi 5870 and 6870. Even a single 5850 or GTX 460 is more than enough power in my opinion, unless you game at 2560x1600, or have Eyefinity or a 3D setup. Don't go too overboard with graphics, the best value is in the R2500-3000 bracket and save the rest for a future upgrade.

ponder has pondered, and spoken.
