Building the below system for a client. Do you guys think the below pricing is fair?

I will be assembling the system for these prices.

Just looking for another point of view.

Customer already has screen and hdd's.

Nope - user has their own OS they want to install. I am not going to install any OS and I doubt they'd be willing to pay for it if I had to install a legit copy and i'm certainly not going to pirate on a clients behalf.

Suppose it's ok but I could buy a i7 system for that price ready assembled.
 
You can? Where, and with what specs? Your prices are decent, the power supply is maybe overkill but looks ok. Maybe you could try for core i5. I think it's possible and worth it.

Just a heads up, do yourself a favour and include Win 7 64bit (4GB ram) anyway, they can always decline if they don't want it.

Dunno about the new Gigabyte chassis but the old ones (i had a isolo and some other cheapies) the hdd's get very hot.

Goes for around R1900 retail.

Thought there is no way you can get a decent I7 X58 system for under 7K.

Looks like a prefect Pc, maybe go for the Asus P45, R50+- price difference.

I would also swap the PSU for a vantec 520watt and save R300.
 
Not sure why you're going ddr3 with the 775 socket. You can shave about R1000 of the price by using ddr2 ram and motherboard without much of a performance difference. If you're going ddr3 rather just put in a bit more and get an i7.
