Hello fellow mybroadband users!

I am switching to PC. I was a console gamer, but the next-gen consoles did not whoa me in terms of graphics. I have a normal office PC, but I bought myself a case earlier this year. So here is my build:

Budget = R7000
CPU: Intel Haswell Core i3-4170 @ R1,606 (RebelTech)
MOBO: ASRock Z97 Anniversary @ R1,420 (RebelTech)
PSU: Corsair VS550 @ R627 (RebelTech)
GPU: PowerColor R9 270 2GB @ R1,999 (Wootware)
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3-1866 (white) @ R917 (RebelTech)
SSD: Transcend 64GB @ R606 (RebelTech)

Total: R7,125

I have an optical drive, as well as two HDDs. I have a Windows 7 Ultimate license.
My case is a Cooler Master 371 with x7 fans. Please feel free to give suggestions, I will appreciate it!

(edit) I am planning to order the components June 22 or early July.

I'll hold off on the SSD in favor of a quad core processor

I heard what you guys are saying, but an i5 is going to cost me a lot of money! And my budget will also go up, and I want to stay in and around R7000 or less. But, you have a good point mmmig.

From which store did you buy that? The cheapest i5 I can get costs R2,545. And I do not want a old gen. I want the new Haswell CPUs.

Carbonite.co.za (Tech classified) You can get a Haswell i5 CPU (OEM/Tray - It doesn't come with the stock cooler/1 year warranty) for R1600. Bought one some times ago. I had to source a decent cooler for my CPU (Hyper 212x).

you could go the full AMD route

The 4590 is Haswell Refresh.

DarkSpectre said it, Carbonite, you can't go wrong. I also bought a R9 270 maybe two months back for R1500 and it still has warranty till December 2017

There's such a small between performance difference though between current and previous gen...

Okay, so Carbonite is the way to go... Only problem is that I live in Durbanville, Western Cape. And I want to see the product in person before I buy.

Just buy from someone with a good itrader rating. No need to see in person.

I bought my graphics card from someone in Cape Town like that.

Some people have a stigma with buying secondhand items, but honestly if you just check if the item still has warranty you can't go wrong. I just had a quick look on Carbonite and with a mix of buying some stuff new and some off of Carbonite you can build a PC that would destroy your current build for the same amount of cash or even less.

Also listen to supersunbird don't buy a 64GB SSD, you can get a 240GB Intel on Carbonite for R1250.

Very thanks for the advice guys! I really appreciate it! I am not scared in buying second hand. I buy all my stuff from Gumtree. My friend just mention that with a SSD my bootup will be a lot faster and it will prevent freezing.

But the thing is SSDs are a luxury not a necessity, there are one or two current AAA titles that have a quad core processor as a minimum requirement so

Why get a Z97 MB, a R900 MSI H81-P33 board will give you all you need really.

Get an i5 CPU from PotterH http://carbonite.co.za/f39/intel-core-i7-4790-intel-core-i5-4590-processors-101382/

Drop the SSD and take the savings from that & the motherboard and pump it into a better GPU! An SSD is not going to give you more fps or better gameplay, the GPU is gonna make the biggest difference here. You can get a GTX 960 or an R9 280x.

You most definitely want to get a SSD but trust me if you get a 64GB you will regret it the same week you get it, use the cash you save by buying on Carbonite and get the Intel one for R1250.

I have a 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD which I bought on Carbonite and my PC boots to desktop in about 10 seconds.

Guys, you reply super fast! Thanks. I am going to buy the i5-4590 on Carbonite from PotterH. Is it a good chip for future gaming?
