I have used canned air, but its ridiculously expensive.
What do you guys use?

Has anyone tried a blower like this?

I once blasted out a pc that lived under a doctor's desk with compressed air (outside, of course.)
I got a mother of a flu within 48 hours. Heck knows what nasties were incubating in that thing.

Had a Ryobi one almost exactly like that where I worked a few years ago. Did the job but a bit overpowered if anything. Used to take the PC's outside and blast them in a few seconds and stand clear or the dust cloud! You used to get smaller ones at Checkers for about R200 that would have done quite nicely - haven't seen one for a few years though and not sure what they would cost today.

You guys clean your PCs that often?

I've currently got an air purifier pointed at mine due to crypto mining which appears to be helping with dust too (well duh it's hepa filtered air)

Yes, I have used one for years cleaning out PCs

Make sure the CPU fan cannot rotate and unplug any motherboard fans and the PSU 34 pin connector

No problems whatever. Always do it outdoors

I just drive to the garage, make sure the fans cant spin and blast it with the air from their hose

Why would there be water in hose? If you're not using it for anything else.

I assume he was responding to me saying the garages air hose could have water, which is possible, thus testing it first

Not sure if serious?

Not worried about static electricity?

I have seen a static free electronics brush mentioned on Reddit, but couldn't find one on sale locally.
I always ground my motherboard, even if outside, in order to prevent static build-up. Also when blowing across a board, do it for the least time possible (a second or two is enough). Blowing is mainly for heatsinks and filters.
Another way is to add a loop of wire around the nozzle tip of the blower and ground that too. I have never done it personally, but have seen anti-static nozzles that are designed that way.

Havent encountered any issues before
Guess Im either lucky or the paint brushes Ive used are natural hairs and dont build up and static. No idea. Been doing it for 30 years now
