Hi All,

I am struggling with a PC that freezes randomly. It does so after a little use, a lot of use, with few programs open or with many - just random. I am not even able to activate the task monitor. Mouse and keyboard are frozen - nothing works. Only solution is to power down and back up.

I have changed the SSD main drive and have also changed the OS and it still does it. The only thing I havenet changed is the processor, the RAM and the motherboard.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks
Vic

Can you please list your complete system specs before we can help you any further?

Can be your Graphics card that's faulty. Also try updating the bios first if you not on the latest bios.

Oh and if I mean list specs try to list details like for example what model number each component is.

Some suggestions:
- Install a program like HW Monitor to check for overheating components. Could point to CPU cooler not being seated properly, for example.
- If you have more than one stick of RAM, try them one at a time to see if this makes a difference.

You would be surprised that even dust can make your pc crash. So first thing you should do is just try and clean the pc of dust then work from there.

Overheating RAM sometimes but unlikely, I would check the CPU temp first, might need to be removed cleaned and apply new coating of thermal paste

ok thanks guys ... will try cleaning and changing RAM as that seems quite easy. Will also list HW but I need to do some work now so only a little later. Thanks

One of mine did a similar thing a little while ago. It turned out that the graphics card wasn't seated properly.
Yeah, intermittent freezes can be caused by any number of components not making proper contact. Definitely something to check.

Pc freezing mostly caused by ram faulty, overclock, wrong timings.

Go into the event viewer after a freeze and check what was happening at the time.

Probably some clues there already.

Start of summer time

Things getting hot, especially cars, going to see a lot of overheating cars by the side of the road with the driver going ehhh aikona.
