What's the best PC game controller?
I'm going to be using for sports games, specifically Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007.

That game seems to favour the Playstation controller layout if i recall the previous versions. If that's your thing then one of the Logitech gamepads are probably the way to go.

You can use an xbox 360 controller on your pc. I sometimes use my wired controller on my pc.

Otherwise, you can check out xfx's range, I thought they were adequate.

But I've only ever played pro evo on xbox, so if the keys work better on the ps design, then yes, go for a logitech.

If racing games were your thing I'd definitely suggest the Xbox controller. Having triggers you can feather are alot better than ones which are either on and off.

I use the logitech rumbledpad 2 for all my pc sports games. I also use for pes and fifa so it should be fine for your needs.

i say use the xbox360 controller as all those "games for windows" games are required to support it.

Worked brilliantly for me and Tomb Raider:Legends.

I have a usb converter for the sony dual shock controller. Has 2 ports which is pretty cool!

Logitech Rumblepads are great, excellent layout thats very sensible. I can't stand the way the XBox's controller has one analogue button on the top left and the other at the bottom right, it's like they tried to hard to make something different to the PS controller and overdid it messing it up.

The wired Logitech Rumblepad 2 should go for under R270, I've got one and it's great, it can even work in some games not designed for gamepads thanks to it's software.

Strokes and folks I guess, my PSone controller used to give me cramps, I don't get that with a 360 controller, but I have reasonably large hands.

I started with a 360 "common controller" - the wired one basically - on my PC, it's a great pad. (I ended up getting the whole 360 because of it ;) )

Logitechs are probably cheaper, and there are also the logitech chill something or others with the airvents which look pretty cool.

Actually it's Sony that's messing up. The analogue being in the top left is because it's the preferred method of control. For some reason Sony prefer the digital pad which is really irritating. When playing tekken, that left analogue stick kept getting in the way.

Let's not forget that the console with the most comfortable controller of the previous generation had the analogue stick as the preferential mode of controlling direction.

I bought a cool one at PNP - PS2 and PC plugs on the end. R140 or so - bargain.

Just get a Xbox 360 controller.

It plug in the USB and you download the driver from MS's website. Easy as pie ;)

The Xbox360 controller, like the boys are saying, is prolly your best bet. It retails for about R299 and works like a charm.

what's more, you can get wireless ones with adaptors as well if im not mistaken (dont quote me on that)

Don't ever buy the cheapest controller you can find. Comfort is way more important than price. It's for having fun. Why make it a chore?

You make a very good point, although having had a look at that controller - it doesnt look too bad methinks. Besides, R99 is cheap enough not to regret it if it turns out to be sucky.

I'm just a bit worried how well that controller will work for flying games etc. The only games i truly enjoy playing on consoles are racing and fighting-like-a-ninja games.

I reckon he buys it and lets us all know how it is :D

hey

iam also looking for a game controller for my pc mostly for first person shooters and adventure games and driving games ... many years ago when i played on my console u know those old 64-1 cartridge games heheh like super mario and that i had this 4 button controller lol and i loved it coz it was easy to slide ur finger from one button onto the next and u could even push two buttons at the same time with the same finger if u needed it for turbo and whatever else, and now if i look at controllers iam lilke huh what er ok lol just the buttons seem so high to me i mean how are u supposed to slide across from one button to the next with out having to puck up ur finger :-/ i mean within the time it takes to move ur finger u could be dead in pc or whatever games now. iam just abit anxious getting one and then i cant play with it and yes comfort is important, ive never tried the xbox controller before but i messed around with the playstation controllers i remember thinking it was abit akward or felt akward .... i dunno
