PC Gaming or Xbox 360 Gaming

Keep your PC if you're relying on your parents.

Or be cheap and mod your 360 to play backup games :p

The reality of this debate is that PC games will be rising in price again. Console games are at an equilibrium, and the majority of titles come out on the next-gen consoles first (360 / PS3).

The cost of constantly upgrading your PC to keep up with system requirements of PC games is ridiculous. I've given up on PC games and just play the odd Football Manager game.

But if your heart is set on PC gaming ... stick to it and sell your 360 to someone who can give it the attention it deserves.

The choice ... and your parents pocket ... is the main consideration!

Your situation is unique. The problem I guess you face is
a. Can your folks keep up with the rate of PC upgrades - is a PC game on underpowered hardware worth it compared to playing it on consistent hardware?

b. Your 15, go get a job mowing lawns or washing cars or something ;)

EDIT: c. if your folks are prepared to dump that on PC hardware why not ask they to hold off on the upgrades and rather increase your allowance?

is it an HDMI Arcade? if it is, you're looking at maybe getting about R1300-ish for it .... sell the games seperately - use BTGames website for reference on prices. I'll book COD4 right now though ;):D

Yeah, you make a good motivation. See, my parents allow me to upgrade every 18 months to 24 months and then I can spend approximately R3000. Every 3 or 4 years, I get a completely new PC which can cost up to R10000. I bought my current PC last year August and all it requires so far is a new graphics card.

The only problem with me is the games. There are so many that I just have to have and it takes too long if I have to save up for the Xbox 360 version then new it's still too expensive so I wait for a second hand copy. Sometimes I find one for a reasonable R400 but by then, there's a new game out. With the PC, I already have money waiting and buy it on release date.

It's just too difficult for me....

PS. How much do you think I can get for my 3 month old Arcade with GTA IV, COD4, Bully and Lost Planet? I also have the receipt.

The best you'll get is R1300-1500 for the console alone. The games might push it to R1600-R1700.

Theirs a new price drop for the Arcade now. RRP of R1800.

If I had the cash (bought allot of SMD rework related equipment this month) I would take it off your hands.

Cheers

No, not yet. :D
My parents said when I am 16, I must pay for my room otherwise I must find another place to live......:p

I think I will probably sell the Xbox 360. It was the same with my PSP. I had it for like 2 years then just decided to sell it. Never regretted it once.

In fairness it is a bit different. That was PSP, so yeah fully ;)

It is legal to work at 15 AFAIK. I wouldn't ever sell my xbox

And sometimes you can pick up really good second hand deals

Why not just buy fighting games for your xbox now and again and keep up with the rest of the games on the pc.

I loved Bully. Played it on the PS2 when it 1st came out. Then I finnished it, thats why I don't want to buy the xbox version. Good game though

It isn't. My mother is a lawyer and I confirmed it. You need to have an ID when you apply for a job and you can only get one once you're 16. I will be 16 in May so it's not too far.

Sorry mate, your mom is wrong. The Basic Conditions of Employment Act states the following:

Prohibition of employment of children

43. (1) No person may employ a child—
(a) who is under 15 years of age; or
(b) who is under the minimum school-leaving age in terms of any law, if this is 15
or older.

So, you can legally be employed when you are 15.

Street Fighter 4 will be on pc, he can just use his xbox controller.

LOL, can you really even think straight @ 15...

Well, GTA IV and COD4 were sold last night for R550 in total with the LIVE Arcade Disc. So all that's left is Bully and Lost Planet.

you're a fscking ass  ...... I told you I'd buy COD4 ffs .......... twit

Yeah, I might use my Xbox controller for some things. Just need to buy the Games For Windows Receiver though. Only about R200.

Oh, thanks dude. Now I can go get a job, legally! Awesome. Is being a waitor a good paying job?

seriously depends where you work ..... years and years ago when I was a waiter, I worked at places where I earned 1.8k a week and at other places where I earned only R300 a week ......... so choose your spot well and don't work for a chain ;):D

Like M_H said, try and work for more "exclusive" restaurants. A friend of mine worked at Beef & Lobster in Moreletta Park some years ago. She made a killing in tips. But prolly because she was pretty and all that... *shrugs*

I'm handsome ... but that makes no difference in a restaurant ;)

LOL

On serious note, isn't there suppose to be a minimum wage for waiters or is that just being tabled in parliament?
