Thanks geuss I will also need a new cooler then.
They both have the the same PCG 2015C (65W) thermal design and 'probably' use the same E97379-003 hetsink/fan. Google will confirm.

Yip that is the exact one so I guess there shouldn't be any issues, might just need to use thermal paste ?
Yeah some fresh thermal paste will be required.
The RAM will be downclocked to what your motherboard+CPU supports, you shouldn't notice much of a difference.I see the I7 - 6700 only supports memory speeds up to 2133 MHz if my Ram is at 2400 MHz will it just slow down slightly to match the CPU ?

I recognize the ad, it's someone from Carbonite.Saw this on a Fb page. Option 2 looks good but to cheap to be legit? View attachment 896394

Here is my current system is it a better bet to upgrade to an I7 6700 for R 2500 or go for option 2 above and then sell my cpu, mobo and ram?
Option 2 would perform better, in gaming it will be a bit faster than a ryzen 5 3600 system. 6 cores 12 threads will also give you more future headroom compared to the i7 6700
Not unless you get a z490 board instead of the included one, so that you can actually run your RAM faster than 2666.
Was going to keep my ram so the new mobo and cpu is 3800 net spend while the 6700 is net spend 2000 assuming I can sell my current cpu fo for 500 and mobo for 700
Sell the cpu/mb/ram om gumtree as you can ask more for it there than carbonite, just practice common sense when dealing there.
