They both have the the same PCG 2015C (65W) thermal design and 'probably' use the same E97379-003 hetsink/fan. Google will confirm.

Thanks will open the box and check when I am at home later today

Yip that is the exact one so I guess there shouldn't be any issues, might just need to use thermal paste ?

Yeah some fresh thermal paste will be required.

I see the I7 - 6700 only supports memory speeds up to 2133 MHz if my Ram is at 2400 MHz will it just slow down slightly to match the CPU ?

The RAM will be downclocked to what your motherboard+CPU supports, you shouldn't notice much of a difference.

Saw this on a Fb page. Option 2 looks good but to cheap to be legit? Screenshot_20200819-233843_Facebook.jpg

I recognize the ad, it's someone from Carbonite.

Edit:

Here is my current system is it a better bet to upgrade to an I7 6700 for R 2500 or go for option 2 above and then sell my cpu, mobo and ram?

Antec VP500P, 500w
Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK8GX4M1A2400C14, 8GB, DDR4-2400, CL14, Black x 2
Kingston UV400 SUV400S37/240G, 240GB, 2.5", SATA6G, Read/Write: 550/490MB/s
EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 03G-P4-6160
Intel Kaby Lake Pentium G4560 BX80677G4560
ASRock B250M-HDV
Cooler Master MasterBox 3 Lite MCW-L3B2-KN5N - Black/Silver

Option 2 would perform better, in gaming it will be a bit faster than a ryzen 5 3600 system. 6 cores 12 threads will also give you more future headroom compared to the i7 6700

Not unless you get a z490 board instead of the included one, so that you can actually run your RAM faster than 2666.

It still looks like a decent deal though, as a 3600 system will be more expensive, and it's definitely faster than a 3300X.

True. Without a z490 it's slightly slower, the performance differences are negligible either way.

It's a good bang for buck deal considering an r5 3600 alone will set you back ~R4.4k, then you still need a mb & ram...

Was going to keep my ram so the new mobo and cpu is 3800 net spend while the 6700 is net spend 2000 assuming I can sell my current cpu fo for 500 and mobo for 700

Sell the cpu/mb/ram om gumtree as you can ask more for it there than carbonite, just practice common sense when dealing there.

Thank also had some success on FB market placement so might consider it

Apparently my budget is slightly lower than I though - R 4000, not to worried about future proofing as I also want to get a PS 4. Currently between the I3 10100 and I5 9400 but they seem very similar any recommendations ?
