Hi guys please help. This is my second pc with the american megatrends bios system that does not want to boot from a bootable usb drive. I created the drive using rufus with mbr option and it works fine on all my other pcs meaning i can boot from the usb to install windows but it just doesnt seem to work on my 2 acer pc's that have the american megatrends bios. I changed the boot order to usb priority and enabled legacy boot but still nothing. When i select to boot from usb it just says press any button to boot from usb but none of the buttons work when i do press it. I do know that the keyboard is working because i can go into bios and change settings etc and it works fine. After no input the buttons, it just shows a windows logo then it shows a white dash blinking continuosly and nothing will happen for hours. It seems to be a problem or setting that i dont know about with regards to booting from a pc with the american megatrends bios. Please help. Thanks in advance

Disable secure boot in the bios, enable f12 boot menu
In rufus use GPT partition scheme for UEFI & FAT32 file system.

I have a traditional bios not uefi and my hdd is in mbr so i created a mbr bootable drive. Also i have the boot menu already activated. My problem is that its not booting from the usb it just says press any key to boot from usb but no key works so then it just shows a windows logo for few seconds then it goes to the flashing dash and can stay that way for hours

Is it possible for you to make a windows recovery drive cd and then boot from disk drive? Had to do it this way with a few laptops before.

You need to enable USB keyboard support in BIOS, I also had this issue.

Make sure you ue the BACK ports of your PC, I have found that to work with more success than the front panel ones

Try rear ports, then other ports, sounds like the keyboard hasnt started up when it tries booting
