Already tried. It is stuffed. I am pretty sure of it. It worked hard and long and it reached the end of the road.Try the HDD in another SATA port, preferably with another SATA cable first.
Might have an issue with either.
Sucks man.Already tried. It is stuffed. I am pretty sure of it. It worked hard and long and it reached the end of the road.
I guess it comes down to finances and data. I managed to get the data off. Sjoe!!! Now to gamble between a new drive or another failure. I think I will just get a new drive.Sucks man.
I've revived an old Seagate Parallel 10GB drive with Spinrite in the past. It takes ages and needs lots of patience though.
You could do a chkdsk /f /rI guess it comes down to finances and data. I managed to get the data off. Sjoe!!! Now to gamble between a new drive or another failure. I think I will just get a new drive.
The pic would make more sense in terms of DR if two of the same models were next to each other.
Thx. Need to find the key though.
Generally if a HDD fails like that, rather just wipe. If it was something that could be explained by Windows being messed up, fine, wipe and use as secondary, not as primary. You could do a chkdsk /f /r
You could also repartition/reformat.
Load data on it like your downloads folder.
Or any other folder you won't mind being lost.
Use it as a secondary drive with the new drive.
Or slap it in a external case for external hdd (after knowing it works).
That's why I suggested he should use it as secondary with data he doesn't mind losing.Generally if a HDD fails like that, rather just wipe. If it was something that could be explained by Windows being messed up, fine, wipe and use as secondary, not as primary.
