So today I switch on my PC, and the mouse is unresponsive, the keyboard is unresponsive, and the screen does not display anything.

So annoying, because it seems to be powering up okay. Anyone know what the issue could be?

Hmmm now that you mention it, there are no beeps, and the sound I hear is the hdd's powering up.

I do get power out of the USB ports though, because I can plug my phone in to charge...

Does your PC use built in graphics or a graphics card?

Onboard GFX don't work either.

If the mobo was blown wouldn't it be that nothing got power?

Your PSU could also be the problem, had that many times before.
It might still power hdd's and mobo but it might be a dual rail and not supplying on one rail, or just not supplying enough.

Yip.

If you boot up, can you get the BIOS screen to come up?
I can't see anything on the screen.

Hmm I will try another PSU.

Hmm I seem to have fixed it. I unplugged and replugged the CMOS battery and then it worked....

Any ideas on the cause?

Dammit it did it again! ANd now unplugging and replugging the CMOS battery doesn't help anymore. SO frustrated.

And the onboard display doesn't work?

I think that your GPU is dying, in all honesty...

The onboard display doesn't work nope... How can I tell? Would a GPU dying cause the KB and mouse to get no power?

There are no artifacts in games etc.

EDIT: I just unplugged the GPU and same thing still happens with the mouse and keyboard.
