If I'm not supposed to start a new thread pertaining to the same topic, I'm sorry. I just thought I'd start fresh now that the problem is different.
Ok so I know now that it isn't the router at all (as in my 'Router Problem' thread) ... it's definately the PC. How do I know, I decided to test the router on this dilapidated PC I'm using for dial up and it works perfectly.
The problem I have now is, is it a hardware or software problem? This
is what I have noted: When I plug into the ethernet port the light comes
on and it shows on the router that there is a link. Does this then
mean that the problem isn't hardware? Like I've mentioned before
when Network Connections is opened, there is nothing there and in
Device Manager the network adapter stuff is hidden and but 'enabled
and working fine', so does that indicate software problems or not?
All I need is for someone to tell me "reformat the hdd coz it's an
XP problem" or "get a network card etc, coz it's a hardware problem"
Any info is appreciated ...
