I have a brand new PC just loaded Windows 7 Ultimate on it.

I'm having trouble switching it on. When I press the power button the light goes on and you can hear the fans running but nothing comes on the screen. No beeps from the pc speaker.

After waiting a few minutes if I touch the power button quickly it switches off immediately (AFAIK when inside the OS usually you need to press the button for 4 seconds as I've done previously and only when in POST or just after starting the machine up does it switch off immediately when pressing the power button) So obviously it's stuck with POST or something...

Any ideas?

silly question, but your monitor is ok?

I would unplug all drives, and all cards (including gfx, use on-board) and leave in one stick of ram and then try...

if you got a discrete board, then pop in the gfx card

no beeps is odd... pc speaker connected?
