Pc restarts while playing games

The RAM is fine. You shouldn't have a problem with Kingston. I think you converting your HDD to NTFS was just coincidence.

Before you test a new PSU, you could try running your system with only one chip of ram. See if that makes any difference, if not, try running it with the other chip only.

Wait u said a blue screen? Then a restart?

With PSU, most time it just restarts by without a bluescreen indicating a loss of power.

With a bluescreen it could be ram, cpu, mobo anything.

If u can borrow a friend's psu to test first, otherwise u'll just be waiting money. Also did you see what the blue screen show after u disabled automatic restart? Googling the error can sometimes show u whats the problem.

+1
If its your PSU, there wont be any Blue screen.
Try an older GPU driver. Does it only happen with the one game you mentioned?

Basically with all my games, asked a friend to lend me ram so i can test that aswell. wil do it as soon as i get home. got an old 8600 gt aswell, will install that and check if that works.

Just remember that the 8600GT uses less power than your 9600GT.

I still say it could be the PSU because it could be undersupplying power to the hardware and when the OS calls certain functions, the hardware doesn't have enough power to do it so it returns a critical hardware error then restarts. It's happened to me before and I replaced my PSU with a 460Watt CoolerMaster.

+1 to underclocking the gfx card i had two mates with 2 different factory oc'ed 8800gt's underclocking solved the prob.

Ok its frozen again, inserted new ram, so doesnt seem to be the ram.

I wrote down the parts of the error message that looked technical

***STOP: 0X000000D1 (0X00000000, 0X00000002, 0X0000001, 0XB7D594A5)

*** USBPORT.SYS - ADDRESS B7D594A5 AT B7D54000, DATE STAMP 48025CE

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

The 96gt is made by forsa

Hope this helps

USB port??? What USB devies are you using? A USB headset maybe? USB wireless adapter? This is not PSU related.

You sir, have a driver problem.

Unplug all your USB devices and then plug them in one by one and see which device is causing this.

I also see you have Windows 7 x64. My Windows 7 64-bit has the same problem which has rendered me unable to use it because of my WiFi adapter which is essential for me.

I just need to know what USB devices you have plugged in. Also follow what another post said and unplug all your USB devices and try play the game, then start plugging them in one by one.

Ok theres one problem, the only thing i have connected to a USB port atm is my mouse, i havent istalled the mouse drivers yet, its a razer krait

Oh and one more thing! i noticed ealier when i restarted machine that my mouse didnt want to work, had to restart pc before it worked.

A friend of mine has the Razer krait and he told me it only Bluescreened AFTER he installed the software. Haven't you got another mouse lying around?

You might want to also look into a BIOS update

Another thing you can try is installing the mouse drivers.

Seriously. You should stop gaming until you sort this out. You don't want your PSU to sizzle and take your motherboard with it.

I think his PSU is fine. If you took a look at his BSOD error, it was a driver error which has to do with the USB port which points at the mouse.

Although I'm not saying he shouldn't buy a new PSU.

I hear you but when a PSU goes over its limit the usb ports are sometimes the first to give an error.
