PC Won't boot after crash - PLS PLS Help

I inserted a CD into my CD-ROM. The CD contents displayed as normal. Upon double clicking on a Winzip installation file (which i have installed from the same CD numerous times), my PC Screen just went blank never to reboot successfully again. There was no blue screen no warning, niks. It was as if there was a power cut.

Now when i try to reboot, it just makes a beep noise for about 3 seconds or so, stops and repeats the beep sound in 5 second intervals thereafter. The screen remains blank and black. I've tried changing the hard-drive, power supply, and even the CD-Rom without much success.

What can it possibly be?

Thats not good, sounds like a hardware problem. Did you try other RAM?

Sounds like vga card could be loose or memory is loose/broken

Google for beep code error messages. Your specific BIOS may have a few of its own unique beep codes, you can find out which BIOS you have with your motherboard model number.

Do you have the manual for your motherboard? When starting up, count the number of beeps. Check in the manual for the relevance beep codes... it will give you a fair idea of what's wrong.

Black screen sounds like VGA or RAM. Do you have an old graphics card and some replacement RAM you could try? Otherwise the motherboard beep code suggestion would be a good way of finding out the problem.

Luckily i do have an old ram that i can use to test your theory. vga aint the problem, i've already tried three diffent graphics cards. i'm praying and hoping that it's ram. without my pc, i just exist in this world. lol

If you look in that wikipedia article it does sound like you have "short steady beeps" which would indicate power supply.

A complete black out like that does in fact sound like power supply.

I didn't get the a change to get all IT-dirty last night. I'll make up some time tonight and try all your suggestions and respond tomorrow.

GUYS, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR INPUT - THE PROBLEM WAS WITH ONE OF MY RAMS. I GOOGLED BEEP-CODES AND GOT THE SOLUTION. THANKS SO MUCH.
