PC won't boot with 4GB RAM

I need the extra memory to run my test SAP system.
I have a full SAP Java + ABAP application server 6.40 running on Solaris.
I also have an XI 3.0 system on top of that, all of which is quite memory hungry so the extra RAM on Solaris will go a long way!

Do you have a spare HDD you can use to reinstall the O/S's and see if that sorts out the problem? - worked for me...

Im using two SATAs at the moment but i guess i could reinstall everything if it gets it to work with the 4GB

if its locking in windows then reload or run xp with only 3 gig memory

you'll loose the dual channel though im sure

Everytime my Windows locked due to RAM I just found it to be a setting in BIOS, namely a high clock speed or the latency set too low. Try slowing down your memory just a tad :) also increase CAS Latency a little more (Like 3 instead of 2.5) . Otherwise change BIOS memory settings to something slower than Turbo. Thats all I can suggest.
