I have a Dell Precision R7610 rack mounted workstation that I need a KVM device for. The others, older models, all have Dell FX100 (Teradici) KVMs in them. http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/dell-fx100/pd It is a PCIe card in the workstation with 2 DVI inputs and an Ethernet output to the desktop unit. Apparently the FX100s are not made anymore and I am battling to explain to my HW supplier what I want. I need something to extend the screens, keyboard and mouse away from the server rack, like 20meters. I think it is called PCoIP solutions.

Question is, who in SA supplies something similar to the old FX100? Ith has to be PCIe on machine side. I don't want those big old KVM switches.

I believe you get rack-mountable KVM switches, which support anywhere from 4 to 16 devices. They also scale quite well, and you can also cascade them, ie, the output of one KVM switch can input to another KVM switch. When I checked it out, it was quite a cool solution for dealing with multiple servers in a rack, and having the screen, keyboard and mouse on a nearby desktop. Alas, it was beyond my budget at the time.
