Hi guys.
Looking for some advice. I currently have a hp ipaq and a separate sony k700i. due for upgrade this month and was looking at my options at a cel/pda combo. Use the pda to mainly read documents - using mobipocket and isilo. most of the software i have is designed for windows mobile so preferably would want a cel which uses that.
options include :
1. HTC Touch (diamond vs pro vs hd)
2. Sony xperia X1 (which i am leaning towards)
3. Nokia E71
4. Samsung Omnia
5. Blackberry Storm (not a windows phone though but if the software can run on it i'll consider it)

any others i'm missing? if not which one would anyone recommend?
only other feature i require is a decent camera for those kodak moments and prob a mp3 player (although not a must)

Thanks in advance

You might also consider the Blackberry Bold (on MTN it's significantly cheaper than the Storm). Both Blackberry's come with Documents2Go for Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. You can only read pdf's from E-mails otherwise you would have to buy a separate application for pdf's
Mobipocket works the same on Blackberry. Has a decent mp3 player and camera (obviously Storm is better is this regard).
Personally (if the unlimited browsing and e-mail feature of Blackberry doesn't appeal to you) I would choose the Xperia as it has the best bang for your buck (Touch HD is more expensive for specs that aren't especially better) and all the other options you've listed are generally inferior hardware/software wise (although both the Blackberry's I mentioned have faster processors if that matters to you).

I would also suggest the Bold, best value for money unlimited browsing no need for Bolt on data! Email on the go and of course as mentioned doc 2 go which works great!

Personally I have one and it's such an upgrade from the old Curve very well worth it!

I am in the same boat as you.
Personally I am leaning towards the X1 but it seems as if stock is a problem.
Do you read lots on your pda? Which pda do you have?
I had the hx4700 and that was great for mobipocket. But it died in a watery grave so I got an rx3715 which is ok for reading, but not as nice as the hx4700 with the vga screen. That is one of the reasons I am looking at the X1. With the wide-vga screen, it must work nice...

I also suggest checking out the Blackberry Bold before you make your decision. I was torn between the X1, Bold and Storm and ended up choosing the Bold. I am very happy with my choice but you can't go wrong with any of the 3.

+ 1 vote for the Bold.

I use to have the Sony Ericsson, HTC and now the Bold and I must say the Blackberry is the best out of the 3 especially with the unlimited email and on device browsing.
