Pensioners need Skype ?

Hi all, 2 pensioners in an old age home without landlines desperately need Skype to keep in touch with family. Pretoria area.
What should I tell them to get ? Very price aware so just the basics.
They have cellphones with PAG but ancient models.

How often do they need to skype, do they have any other internet access? How long do they skype for?

Maybe an hour a day to SA and USA. No other internet

They can get an LTE modem and the CellC 100gb deal valid for a year for R1000 once off.

May i suggest they get a tablet with that maybe a tab 3 or huawei 8" tablet. That can connect to the wifi and they can skype with that.

Thats what i set up for my family and it works like a charm.

Just make sure the tab has a front facing camera. They can use facebook on the tablet too for looking at family photos of their relatives.
